TOPE is Anthony Anderson, Portland MC who started with Living Proof and released his first solo record, Until the Next Time We Meet, earlier this year. Almost simultaneously, his project TxE (TOPE, Epp and G_FORCE) released We Get It in True. Anderson is Portland born and raised, and you'll hear Portland places dropped in his raps, and as he tells it, also the jazz and soul records he heard at home growing up.

We recorded TOPE upstairs at Mississippi Studios with his band. This four-song set begins with one we've been spinning on opbmusic: "Midnight," featuring singer Caitlin Cardier, while Calvin Valentine joins later for a closing version of "Life of the Party."
