Studio Sessions
The Broken West in-studio, 2-27-09
Recording engineer: Steven Kray
On the heels of their second release out last fall on Merge, The Broken West joins us for a rare acoustic set and interview. On borrowed guitars, the band plays songs from their 2007 debut, I Can't Go On, I'll Go On-- an album that garnered comparisons to power and roots pop masters like Big Star and The Flying Burrito Brothers, and their decidedly more modern sounding follow-up, last year's Now or Heaven. We'll talk to the band about that decision to change their sound up a bit, the hectic touring schedule they've been keeping over the past couple of years, and why they're recession-proof.
