The Mountain Goats play the Aladdin Theater in Portland Sunday night, touring behind the new record Transcendental Youth. That's the 14th record John Darnielle has released since 1994 as The Mountain Goats, an output that's maintained his unique voice as a songwriter.

Newcomer Matthew E. White is opening Sunday's show. White's debut record Big Inner has been a fixture on opbmusic's playlist (as with The Mountain Goats) since its release this summer.

The Mountain Goats and Matthew E. White play at the Aladdin Theater Sunday night at 8. Doors open at 7. (Those under 21 are admitted with a parent or guardian.)
