Meshell Ndegeocello performs A Tribute to Nina Simone at the Mission Theater in Portland next Wednesday night (December 12th). This year Ndegeocello released a tribute album, titled Pour une Ame Souveraine (For a Sovereign Soul). The record features songs like "Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood," "See Line Woman," and "House of the Rising Sun" and contributors Cody Chesnutt, Liz Wright and Toshi Reagon.

Luz Mendoza of Y La Bamba opens Wednesday's concert.  Doors open at 7; show starts at 8. It's a 21+ over show.
