Veteran slowcore poppers Low have always traveled in lovely sounds. Whether it's been the more sedate, ethereal early recordings on which they gained their fame, or the surprisingly muscular efforts offered in recent years for Sub Pop (their most recent, C'mon, dropped in April), their name has been synonymous with gorgeous if gloomy creations one must suppose have something to do with spending long, cold winters in Duluth. Just a guess, though, we don't really know why they're so sad.

Just in time for the sudden autumn in the Portland air, Low comes to the Aladdin Theater this Saturday with openers Bachelorette as part of their C'mon West Coast Tour. Needless to say, it's bound to be a beautiful night-- hearing Mimi Parker's voice fill the room is reason enough to be there. Even better? You can go for free, on us, with a friend!
