Boise's Treefort Music Festival is growing up well and quickly. The two year old festival announced headliners and more this week for this year's version coming March 21st-24th and it's quite a coup, counting Animal Collective, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Dan Deacon, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Foxygen, TheeSatisfaction, Sage Francis, Delicate Steve, Pickwick and hometown boy Youth Lagoon among a bounty of artists not surprisingly heavy on the "North West" and "up and coming" labels. Not bad, not bad at all, and a suddenly viable option for those in the region who don't want to endure the expense, travel time or deluge of Austin's SXSW the week before. Roadtrip!

As was the case last year, some of Portland's best and brightest figure in the action-- Radiation City, Wampire and Wooden Indian Burial Ground will all be joining Unknown Mortal Orchestra in Boise. The final wave of artists, including an additional headliner, will be announced February 14th. Tickets are currently going for the remarkably affordable (by comparison) price of $99, but go up ten bucks on February 1st....and ten more on March 1st.

Meanwhile, "The Road to Treefort" has already begun for some...
