Odd Future proved to be one of the most exciting, dynamic, high-energy, and photogenic acts at SXSW. Their youthful blend of hip-hop, skating, and punk culture is as unique as it is accessible. There's nothing like seeing a bunch of teenagers from gritty Los Angeles have the time of their lives on a stage in front of thousands. Hodgy Beats stagedived directly over my head, and I was instantly transported to my first basement punk show somewhere in northern New Jersey. They infuse a desperate vitality into their live performance, and that makes for compelling photographs.
