Dan Deacon and the rest of the musicans were on tour in a big yellow school bus (that ran on veggie oil no less), traversing the states like a traveling musical circus.
Baltimore rappers Height With Friends opened and got the night going, making the floor of the Hawthorne quiver with deep bass, groovin' beats and seriously killin' vocals.
Reknowned for his mind-blowing visual effects, eye-popping stage-set ups and high levels of crowd participation, Dan Deacon & friends delived a performance full of energy and joy.
The Dan Deacon Show App for smartphones (pictured above) was the source of visual effects for two songs, taking audience participation to a new level. The whole show was so much more than any typical passive concert-going experience—where you sit, listen, bob your head, then go home. None of that was to be had here! Complete with orchestrated dance battles and a whirling "circle of death," the overall effect was a tour de force of fun. We have the rest of the photos from the show in a set on our opbmusic flickr page, be sure to check 'em out!
