Nearly four years since her last release in the Jukebox covers record, Chan Marshall is reviving Cat Power in anticipation of a new record to be released sometime in 2012. As promised, the singer offered a new song* and accompanying video on her website Christmas Eve. It's a rather mesmerizing bit, starring....world champion boxer Manny Pacquiao (?), and directed by.....Giovanni Ribisi (?). Yes and yes. The high-quality MP3 version is available for sale at the Cat Power site, with all proceeds going to the Festival of Children Center and the Ali Forney Center.

*"King Rides By" is actually an updated take on a song that originally appeared on 1996's What Would the Community Think?
