Last we saw Laura Gibson, she was unveiling a few new songs for PDX Pop Now's Make It Pop last spring, showing a promise of good things to come in the process. Those good things seem a little closer now, as we can tell you that Gibson's upcoming La Grande (also a town in Oregon where I ate the best muffin I ever had) will see the light of day on the Seattle-based Barsuk label early in 2012. Gibson joins a roster that includes fellow Portland acts Menomena and Ramona Falls, as well as names like David Bazan, Mates of State, Ra Ra Riot and more. Her most recent release, Beasts of Seasons was released on Hush in 2009.
