Surprise! David Bowie turns 66 today, and he's throwing his own little party!
Bowie has announced the release of his first album since 2003's Reality, ending a decade of silence that had some wondering if he was finished with music. The Next Day arrives March 12th in the U.S. and the details surrounding the recording-- 14 new cuts recorded in New York with producer Tony Visconti-- answer that speculation with a resounding no.
The album's rather elegant and brooding first single, "Where Are We Now?" went on sale today at iTunes. Here's the video from director Tony Oursler, which like the song reflects on Bowie's time spent living in Berlin in the mid to late 70s.
