Portland band Denver kicks off a new video series, playing "Hot Denver #1" On the Tracks.
This is the first video for On the Tracks. We've been percolating on an idea for a while of a new video series focused on songwriters, giving you a chance to hear a bit of the story behind each song, and see the song peformed on the old tracks behind OPB. (Look for upcoming videos from Robert Sarazin Blake and Ed and the Red Reds.) Yesterday, when Denver members Mike Elias, Birger Olsen, and Tom Bevitori showed up driving this old red Ford truck, the sun came out, and we got a little crazy about the look of things on video.
The song is "Hot Denver #1," from Denver's eponymous summer release, which displays the band's full 6-piece sound including members of Blitzen Trapper.
You can hear Denver play at Mississippi Studios tonight (Nov 26th), opening for Weinland. It's a CD release show for Weinland's latest, Los Processaur. Denver is the second band on the bill; The Lower 48 is opening.
