East coast folk-jammers Deer Tick have announced the October release of their upcoming album, Divine Providence. The album will be the band's fourth release, following their most recent album, 2010's The Black Dirt Sessions. To add to the anticipation, the band has debuted the first single, "Miss K," for download. The song is a jaunty piece about loving a woman, complete with dancin', drinkin' and talkin' dirty. Take a preview below, or download here.

As for the rest of the album, we do have a few clues about what it will hold. Frontman John McCauley explained, "...we wanted to make a record that was truer to our live set: raw, loud, heartfelt, and completely uninterested in whatever the hell the rest of the music industry is up to". In true Deer Tick fashion, we can expect the album will additionally include some surprising covers-- in previous albums the band has covered artists like Sean Kingston ("Beautiful Girls" hence became awesome, by the way), Warren Zevon and The Replacements, as well as playing entire sets of Nirvana under the guise of "Deervana", which they pull off with strange exactitude...what will be next?!?
