Jeremy - writing to agree with Thom's "please play more Portland unknowns" comment - I know you all have in hand the Mitchell Sumner CD "JipOpus" and it deserves a hearing, along with so many more terrific Portland artists, like Felicia and the Dinosaur.

And God bless the late Alex Chilton!

Just caught the Laura Veirs in-studio session, which I've heard a few times before (you did note that it was recorded before her tour). But your final comment about her having done the European tour 5-7 mos pregnant made me remember that she looked plenty pregnant when I saw her opening for Blind Pilot back in December (?), and I guess I assumed she had had the baby before this tour. That would have been another kind of heroic, but, wow, she took on quite a challenge there.

Can you play more unknown artists? or local people who havent made it yet? Like Sneak Thieves. I cant stop listening to the new on. Love your show though. Sundays are so good on OPB Radio.

Or Strangled Darlings - for that matter. :)

Yeah, Gunky. I've never been pregnant myself, but that seems fairly herculean on her part. Almost as impressive as taking a four month old on tour with you, which I hear is what she plans to do in August. Hey Thom- we try to strike a balance. "Unknown" and "made it" are slippery terms, of course, and one person's Radiohead is another's Joe Blow (or something like that). So your point is taken, but we also hear from those who like to hear the slightly more familiar in the mix. Still, who is Ralph White? Archeology? LoneLady? Hurtbird? etc. Thanks for the tip on Sneak Theives-- I'll try to track them down (which is the other challenge with unknown artists, sometimes we just don't have the music). Thanks for listening!

I totally understand! And I like your balance. Thanks for reading my post. Good Job. -thom ps. I misspelled Sneaky Thieves!

Hi Thom, Thanks for the mention. It's nice to hear that people are enjoying some of our new stuff. Any particular songs you like best? Jeremy- We're working with a label out of Portland called Other-Electricities (www.other-electricities.com). At the risk of self-promoting, our second record is set to release on 30MAR, so drop by www.other-electricities.com/sandbox/?q=OE023 or sneakythieves.com to see if you like anything. Thanks! -robert (of Sneaky Thieves)
