PDX Pop Now! exploded in a preview show in front of Portland's City Hall.
Next week see the 6th annual free all ages PDX Pop Now! festival at Rotture on SE 3rd in Portland, but this past Thursday PDX Pop Now!, in conjunction with the Office of Mayor Sam Adams, presented an outdoor, summertime concert in the tradition of big cities, free and open to the public.
Opening were breaking band Y La Bamba - cited for success in 2008 by critics, they are about to release a long awaited first studio album. Then came an especially fine set from Point Juncture, WA, one of the opbmusic staff pics from last year, followed by the new YACHT - Astoria's own, now famous in the UK/Europe club scene, hooked up with mirror talent Claire Evans. Energy encapsulated and burst forth.

The three tiered experience set within and in front of the city hall drew a full crowd of all ages, all citizens and augers well for the upcoming main festival next week.
