Thanks, I'm afraid it is a transmitter issue, and the engineers are already on it. It doesn't affect the online stuff, obviously.

Okay, heard of it, but... not entirely familiar. Want to recommend a track or two? I'll be glad to get something on tomorrow.

It is pretty great to be able to to stream you online when something goes haywire over the air, and it makes you sound all twenty-first century and digital-like, even when your playing the Beatles. ^_^

Too Many Birds / Bill Callahan playing - my hair is raised from my skin. How do you rate a song 7 on your 1-5 scale???
Jeremy Petersen / June 27, 2009
Take that, 20th century medium! (And they are digital Beatles at this point, after all).
Jeremy Petersen / June 27, 2009
Heh, I know, right? I've no doubt it will be just as superb live...

I'm streaming now, sometimes it doesn't work with multiple users on this hub. Sorry to miss that Loney Dear - but with the opbmusic service I can get there later. MJackson was so huge for so many music fans, I've had messages from across the world, but for me he was a great entertainer and a furtive, occasional musical innovator. Sad bloke, amazing persona. In comparison, the reaction when Frank Zappa or Nina Simone passed... the latter was all but suppressed.

Hi again, On "As Smart As We Are" I would recommend "The Ghost of Rita Gonzalo", or "Natty Man Blues." If you have a copy of "Tranz Party", which is pretty rare I guess, I would say "Mornington Crescent Withdrawal" would be interesting. I would be interested to hear what your feedback was after playing any one of those. All of them are pretty short. By the way, although I expect that you would play them through once just to make sure you raise the eyebrows of the FCC, I can assure you that they are expletive free (at least to the best of my memory). Thanks for the reply by-the-way. KC

I meant DON'T raise the eyebrows of the FCC.

Good Evening JP, Taking a rest after the shiveringly exciting opening of Portland's newest music venue The Woods last night. A former funeral palour, it's been transformed into a great venue. Britten Ashford, Loch Lomond, Nick Jaina, Weinland and Portland Cello Project were followed by a manic Michael Jackson dance-off. And tomorrow at the Aladdin - Bill Callahan - can hardly wait. A full review will be on the opbmusic blog Monday.
Jeremy Petersen / June 27, 2009
Yeah, I see what you're trying to do there. :)

The Woods bill sounded wonderful, of course, and I was doubly envious when news of an MJ dance-off broke on Facebook afterwards. I had other obligations, though that wasn't a bad thing. Let's just say a certain NoPo karaoke spot was owned and then some by a large grouping of certain OPBers. Ahem. I'm more or less distraught over missing the Callahan show. I'll be on the air. Enjoy!

I don't know if you're aware of it but the signal to the Hillsboro area keeps breaking off (4 times so far) for about a minute or so each time.
Jeremy Petersen / June 27, 2009
Strange. This is the first I've heard of it. But here's an update.....something's awry and the engineers are on it. Luckily, you can still listen to the OPB and opbmusic online streams, right?
Carbonfish / June 27, 2009
Hi, I just wanted to chime in an let you know that it sounds like either you are having transmitter trouble, or whoever is running the board needs a refresher on basic operation. I'm just sayin'
Carbonfish / June 27, 2009
I don't know if you are taking requests at this time, but do you have any One Ring Zero in the vault? Their "As Smart As We Are" album was pretty great, and so was "Tranz Party." Anyway, if you have any, and also have time to play it, I'm sure at least one of your listeners would find it entertaining. Thanks, KC
Carbonfish / June 27, 2009
Oops. Didn't mean to sound snarky. I see from Jeremy's update that you are having technical trouble. Sorry.
